Why Florida is a Great Place for a Family Vacation

Florida is an obvious choice when it comes to a family vacation, and not just because of its wonderful weather and amazing beaches. The Sunshine State gives families a plethora of choices geared toward children and is great on the wallet. Families can choose between theme and water parks or boardwalks and beaches. If they want more of a relaxing visit while soaking up the nature of the state, there are plenty of ways to see dolphins, manatees, and even sharks.

Families can stay within their budget by checking out rental properties and booking gorgeous family homes. You can search Fort Lauderdale houses for sale and see if there are affordable rentals or AirBnBs. Some may even have private pools and patios to make your vacation a little more luxurious. If your budget allows, Florida also has plenty of resorts and hotels that have great pools and activities for kids.

If you and your family want to wear matching shirts and don some mouse ears, then you and your clan can visit Orlando. There are plenty of activities in this Florida city including SeaWorld, Walt Disney World Resort, and Universal’s Islands of Adventure. These amusement parks can get pretty pricey.  However, there are always deals going on that your family can take advantage of, and you can also save money by staying off of the park grounds.

Your family can check out Sanibel Island if you are looking for more of a relaxing but still exciting vacation.  It offers cycling, swimming, and even snorkeling to name a few. The island boasts 15 miles of beaches for families to play in the sand, search for shells, crash through the waves, or paddleboard with the whole gang.

Tampa is a great destination if your family still wants the bustle of a city, but still not that go-go-go of the amusement park city of Orlando. You can stay near the beach and relax, or you can take a day and go to Busch Gardens to see some animals and ride rollercoasters.  The Florida Aquarium is in Tampa where kids and adults can wonder at sharks, alligators, and friendly otters. There is also the Glazer Children’s Museum to spend the day in case you are vacationing during a rainy day in Florida.

Florida even offers destinations for families who are history buffs!  St. Augustine is the oldest European settlement in the U.S.  There are amazing pirate adventures at this destination and even fun tours around the town on trains.  St. Augustine also offers ghost tours and cruises along the waterways so you can learn even more about the town’s history.

Another fun Florida destination is the Space Coast. Your family can visit the Kennedy Space Center where kids and adults can ride a shuttle simulator. There is plenty of beach life to relax and even book surf lessons for everyone.

Whatever you guys decide to do, Florida is an amazing place for family trips that is sure to bring everyone closer and make amazing memories.
